Memory problems are common and almost all of the students are facing these problems. It is often that they find it difficult to remember and learn anything that they have just read or heard in class lectures and discussions. This issue makes them believe that they are not good at taking the tests or their minds get blank with too much information to retain.

It is not just students, who face great difficulty in remembering information; even the working adults are struggling  with this memory problem. 1. Organize the information

When you organize the information, it means that you will arrange it into categories. If you are studying the human anatomy, for example, you group the parts into systems according to functions and locations and it will be easier to remember them. The other method is called “chunking”, or the grouping of long series of numbers, such as telephone numbers, lock combination and SSS number. When you group them into threes or fives at a time, they become easier to remember.

 2.Visualize the information in your mind

A picture that you visualize or form in your mind is easier to remember than the details from a textbook or lecture. Create images in your mind that is similar to the subject that you’re studying. When it is imprinted in your brain, it is highly likely that you will remember it.

3.Association

Association means that you associate or connect a word or event that you’d like to remember to a situation, place, feeling or passion. When you’re given a group of words to memorize, write it down, then next to it, write also the person or thing that you associate it with. You can even create a sentence to make the association stronger.

4. Active studying

Active studying means that you teach the information that you heard to a group of students like you. You engage in discussions with your instructors and peers. Therefore, you remember what you learned. If you are a passive learner, you keep the information to yourself and you do not want to seek the feedback of your instructor.

5. Avoid Cramming

Cramming is simply a way to memorise any information by repeating it again and again or we can say that It is a study skill that many students often use, by trying to remember or memorize a lot of information in a very short amount of time, before an exam. It will be better to review frequently, weeks or days before the tests.

6. Storytelling

You can convert the data or information into a story that you could tell to your classmates. Before you create a story, first have the information organized logically within the story and you can enhance your memory.

7. Reading aloud

When you read your study materials aloud, it will be easier for you to remember what you are reading, rather than just reading with your eyes.
